Ariana DeBose praises her Kraven the Hunter the impressive physique of actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
While at the fourth annual Academy Awards Gala held on October 19 at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles, the 33-year-old Oscar winner was asked what she thought of the new Kraven the Hunter photos showing Taylor-Johnson’s muscles.
“Oh, yes. They are real. I had the privilege of watching them,” DeBose said playfully Diversity when displaying the photo.
“I think he might have been hungry. But they are beautiful,” she added. “I appreciate the male form just like many, many people on the planet. He is a grand man; beautiful and so sweet. He’s so much more than his belly, you know? And, frankly, he’s a very good actor. Amazing actor. I was very, very proud to work with him.”

A synopsis teases that the R-rated action film serves up the origin story of “how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be.”
Taylor-Johnson, 34, plays Kraven, a man “whose complicated relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinov (Crowe), sets him on a path of revenge with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the world’s greatest hunter, . but also one of the scariest.”
DeBoss plays Calypso in the film, and she previously teased to ComicBook.com that fans “should expect the unexpected” with how her character will translate to the screen.
Taylor-Johnson talked about joining the Sony-Marvel film, calling it “a completely different challenge.”
“There is the story, the character, the role; that’s one thing. But then you’re also stepping into a world where you’re dealing with a studio and a franchise – or possible franchises, though let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” he said Rolling Stone Great Britain this year.
“So they’re rolling the dice on me, in a way, which is a wonderful thing. But you have to appease the studio, please the audience and do what is worthy of you as an actor. I find it all super challenging.”

The actor, who has also portrayed comic book characters in Kick-Ass and Avengers: Age of Ultron, also explained what he was doing Craven stand out in front of him.
“I think there was something unique about that character and something grounded,” he said. “We’re all sick and tired of watching certain studio movies, a certain kind of pop culture … where they spew things that dilute the desire to go to the movies. I wouldn’t have signed on if I felt there was something to really bring this character to life.”
Kraven the Hunter is in theaters from December 13.
