No. 18 Midland volleyball sweeps Doane – Fremont Tribune

No. 18 Midland volleyball won its final regular-season road game of the fall, 25-15, 25-14, 25-19 over Doane on Saturday.

“The team came out very focused in the first game – a much better start than in the CSM game,” Midland head coach Paul Giselman said in a press release. “We still need to clean up our hitting mistakes as we got a bit sloppy in the second and third sets.”

The Warriors overwhelmed the Tigers from the start, building a 7-1 lead in the first set that they never relinquished and doubled the early lead again in the second set (7-0).

Doan didn’t let Midland take the match early in the third set, building an 8-4 lead of its own to start the final set of the day.

The Warriors quickly killed it off with an 8-2 run of their own that turned the tide back in favor of the visitors.
