Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB) – Two people were displaced after the dryer, which was left on a mattress, ignited a fire at an apartment on Tuesday morning.
The Baton Rouge Fire Service says this happened in Quida Mae Drive’s Willow Creek apartments around 4:10 in the morning
The firefighters reacted and found two people out and smoke coming from the apartment.

After talking to residents, employees determined the mattress dryer, the fire began. Those who live in the apartment fell with a fire extinguisher and then moved the mattress outside behind the apartment.
As they waited for the apartment or exploded, they later noticed flames coming from the back of the device and called 911.
Inside, the crews found fire damage to the back of the device with an activated sprinklers. The crews turn off the sprinklers and cleared the smoke.
The Red Cross was called to help displaced inhabitants.
Brpd, EMS, Entergy and District Six Fire also reacted to the scene.
