Lubbock, Texas (News message) – With the predicted winter temperatures to be dangerous this week, the city of Lubbok offers citizens to get out of the cold and warm up.
Emergency warming center can be opened and operated when the National Meteorological Service (NWS) predicts temperatures at 25 degrees or above, an inch or more snow, temperatures below 32 degrees with an inch of rain, heavy wind chills or extreme temperature fluctuations.
All library branches will serve as warming centers during their normal working hours, offering water, free Wi-Fi and charging stations for anyone who needs to safely get out of cold to Friday at 6:00 pm.
City asks all patrons to comply with others and planned programs or events.
