Cheraw, SC (WBTV) – A man died after two dozen shots were fired on Sunday, repeatedly hitting him in the chest in Chesterfield.
Thehe Sheriff The MPs mentioned were summoned to John Ralph Lane’s house, right next to Highway 52, shortly after 10pm, when the MPs reached there, they found that the man lying on the ground dead. He was identified as 19-year-old Jonathan Alexander Williams.
Officials said that “numerous” shells of shells were found around the body of Williams, as well as “several” bullets holes on the side of the house.
A total of 24 shell sheaths were found at the scene, with five bullets in the house.
The deputies told their neighbors told them that they had heard of shooting about three hours earlier – about 7:30 pm – but they do not think it was unusual, because “this happens all the time in their neighborhood.”
A neighbor said they had seen a white Toyota Camry, which pulls out of the alley of the house; However, the officials have not yet said whether they have identified any suspects.
The case is investigated by the Sheriff office of Chesterfield County and the South Carolina Response Department (SLED).
