LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Two people are in critical condition after being hit by a drunk driver early Sunday morning, Oct. 27, in Laredo.
Police responded to the 5000 block of Palo Alto Lane and found a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman on the ground. Both were dragged by a car and suffered several injuries.
As Halloween approaches, police are reminding the public about the dangers of drunk driving.
“We know Halloween is right around the corner. There will be various parties around town. We want to remind the community — if you’re going to drive drunk, always look for alternative methods to get home safely. We want to prevent an increase in pedestrian-vehicle accidents and fatalities,” said Jose Espinosa of the Laredo Police Department.
The driver, identified as 20-year-old Jesus Rodriguez, is currently in the Webb County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
