A teenager was injured in an accidental shooting Monday afternoon in Baker – AOL

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPRUD) — One person was injured after a reported shooting in Baker on Monday.

According to the Baker Police Department, around 1:15 p.m., officers were called to the 2200 block of South Magnolia Drive in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 17-year-old male had been improperly handling a gun when it accidentally fired and he was injured.

EMS officials said the victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Police say the teenager was responsive when he left the scene.

No further details were released.
