Ralph Fiennes Reveals The Future Of The Franchise 28 Years Later And Shares Plot Details | BANG Showbiz English – 共同通保

Ralph Fiennes revealed that the first two parts of the “28 Years Later” trilogy have been filmed.

The 61-year-old actor stars as a doctor in the upcoming zombie apocalypse film – itself a sequel to Danny Boyle’s 2002 film 28 Days Later and Juan Carlos Fresnadio’s 28 Weeks Later since 2007 – and now Fiennes has shared that the first two films are already finished.

Speaking to IndieWire, he said, “It’s three movies, two of which have been shot.”

The Harry Potter star detailed the plot of the next film, which sees director/writer duo Danny Boyle and Alex Garland return to the series after sitting out 28 Weeks Later.

Fiennes said: “Britain is 28 years into this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid people with a few pockets of uninfected communities. And it centers on a young boy who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother.

“He’s leading his mother through this beautiful northern English countryside. But, of course, around them hide in forests and hills and forests are the infected. But he finds a doctor who is someone who we might think would be weird and strange, but he’s actually a force for good.”

In addition to Boyle and Garland, 28 Days Later star Cillian Murphy is returning for the upcoming film in a “surprise” appearance and will not be part of the main cast.

28 Years Later – which is slated for release in June 2025 – will also star Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jack O’Connell, although details about the trio’s characters are being kept under wraps.

The upcoming sequel, which is titled “28 Years Later, Part II: Temple of Bones,” is set to be helmed by “Candyman” director Nia DaCosta, with Garland and Boyle writing the script.
