LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry arrested a man wanted on a felony warrant for a sex offense against a child.
On Thursday, October 24, CBP officers referred Carlos Pargas Magallanes, a 48-year-old lawful permanent resident of the United States, for a secondary inspection at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge. During the check, officers discovered that Magallanes had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for indecency with a child issued by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office.
“Our front-line CBP officers have apprehended another individual wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for an alleged sex offense involving a child,” said Port Director Albert Flores, Laredo Port of Entry. “The apprehensions of individuals wanted for heinous crimes like these perfectly illustrate the importance of CBP’s border security mission and reflect our continued commitment to keeping our communities safe.”
Magallanes was subsequently arrested and transported to the Webb County Jail to face charges of indecency with a child.
