KINGSVILLE, Texas (October 26, 2024) – Lubbock Christian University finished the day at the Lone Star Conference Championships in tenth place out of 14 schools in attendance.
Freshman Brooke Morlock was the top Lady Chap finisher, placing 50th overall. She posted a time of 23:48 to earn her second best team finish of the season, her first since NJMC Invitational II.
Fellow freshman Yahaira Martinez finished behind Morelock in the team standings and 58th overall, continuing her strong performance from the last meet where she was the top Lady Chap finisher. The rest of the Lady Chaps finished as follows: Chloe Trull (23.59, 61st), Madeline Merrell (24:01, 62nd), Amy Tew (24:54, 77th), Bucky Smith (24:59, 79th), Kinley Cornelsen (25:01, 80s), Kylie Knapp (25:35, 89th), Mitzi Madrid (25:51, 93rd) and Keeley Franco (27:43, 105-a).
West Texas A&M won the Lone Star Conference championship for the second consecutive season and its fourth title overall. The Lady Buffs also claimed the top three individual finishers, with Sarah Koomson taking the individual win with a time of 20:32.
Lubbock Christian will continue to play as it moves toward national competition, participating in the NCAA South Central Regional Championships in Denver, Colorado on November 9, 2024.
