The Larendo man gets 16 years for drug trafficking – KGNS

Laredo, Texas (KGNS) -37-year-old man has been sentenced to more than 16 years in prison to help relocate large quantities of marijuana.

Gavino Kadena, who pleaded guilty to November 10, 2022, was sentenced to 194 months in prison. He will also serve five years of supervisory release after his time in prison. The court examined Kadena’s past criminal actions, including his tigs with the CDN Cartel (CDN) and the Tango Blast gang. While in custody, Kadena has participated in several incidents with violence with competitive gangs.

According to a press release, Kadena was a leader in the drug surgery. He helped organize the transportation of over 8,000 pounds of marijuana, which was brought to Larendo from Mexico. The medicines were moved through trailer tractors.

In the course of the investigation, which included two related cases, authorities seized over 17 tonnes of marijuana worth about $ 16.4 million. A total of 22 people, including several Mexican citizens, were sentenced to their role in the operation, with prison sentences ranging from 18 months to 14 years.

Kadena will remain in custody until he is transferred to the US Bureau of Prison.

The drug administration, the Larendo Police Department and several other law enforcement agencies worked together on the operation.
