A police officer in North Las Vegas, who was shot, had to be remembered at a public memorial service on Thursday.

The procession for the murdered officer Jason Roskov, the father of two and 17-year-old veteran at the North Las Vegas police station, was killed at a shootout on February 4 with a 25-year-old man identified by the Clart Crown office as Alexander Matisse.

The 46 -year -old Roskov was shot dead repeatedly by Matisse, who had fired five rounds of Makarov pistol, police said at a press conference on Wednesday. Although he was shot, Roskov managed to shoot 16 rounds, police said. Matis died from a firearm in the head, the Corron cabinet reported.

On Thursday, vehicles for the first response will start the procession at 9am from Palm South Jug’s morgue, S. Jones Blvd. 1600, and will go to the central church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, police said.

The route of the procession will start:

A funeral liturgy is planned for Roskov, which will be held on Monday at the Catholic Church of St. Joseph in Roskov’s hometown in Prariya Du Rocher, Illinois, with a funeral that follows.

“Jason Roskov was the patron saint and guardian of our community,” said North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Gines-Brown on February 6 at candles in honor of Roskov. “Every day he answered the call.”
