Registration for Louisiana Fortify Homes Program Lottery Open; 1000 grants to be awarded – WBRZ

Baton Rouge – Registration for the next round of the Louisiana Fortify Homes Grants program opens on Wednesday, February 12 and closes on Sunday, February 16.

Housing owners who have registered in the previous round but have not been selected must register again if they want to participate. The registration window will open at 8 am on Wednesday and close at 5:00 pm on Sunday.

Once the lottery registration period is closed, LFHP ​​randomly selects 1000 participants and send an email to the registrants who are selected to participate.

The program provides grants up to $ 10,000 for homeowners to upgrade their roofs to the Standard for a fortified roof of the Business and Home Safety Insurance Institute, which involves strengthening the home against heavy storms, strong winds driven by the wind.

Residents in the following areas are ranked to enter the lottery:

– Lake Charles
– sulfur
– Westlake
– Everywhere in the area of ​​the coastal map

Housing owners are required to create a LFHP ​​system before registering for the lottery and can do so by visiting the program website and clicking the Login button. Housing owners who have previously created an account can continue to use it.
