Hey there families and welcome to Erica elections. I have been alert for the best events suitable for children for years, every weekend around the larger area in Seattle happens. Whether you are looking to explore a new park, visit a fun workshop or catch a local performance, I have covered you. Each week, I will share my selected activities that will surely hold the small fun, engaged, and maybe even learn something new along the way. So, get your calendar, gather your crew and get ready for a weekend full of fun! Let’s dive into the election for this weekend, February 15 and 16, 2025

Gold gem and mineral show

  • Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16, from 9am to 4pm
  • Evergreen State Fairgrounds
  • Admission of $ 5, children of 13 years and less are free with adult

Focus on Gold Gem and Mineral Show in Monroe, WA for a weekend full of shiny rocks and instructions on how to find them. There will be presentations covering various research items, plus suppliers, equipment displays, club opportunities and more. There will even be special guests from the Gold Rush television shows to sign autographs and take pictures. Children can learn how to panoramic gold on their cabin for panic and participate in hourly drawings and raffles of awards.

Boarding

  • Yesler Community Center
  • Free

Come from the Yesler Chitalishte and bring your favorite game or try one of their games during fun time in the community. This is a great event for the whole family. You can meet your old friends or make some new ones until you learn some new, fun games. The decline in board games happens every Saturday and all ages are welcome. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.

A series of kind children rock

  • Saturday February 15, 10:30 am
  • Mount Baker Public Club
  • $ 5 per person

Families are invited to experience the type of Kindenced Kids Rock Series in Mount Baker Community Club this weekend. The series presents a show every third Saturday until May 17. All shows start at 10:30 in the morning and are a long hour. Come a dance with Brian Vagan and his good friends this Saturday. The show features fun, inclusive and interactive music for children and their parents, which is definitely dancing. Parking the streets around Community Club Mount Baker is free and you can get tickets for the door show.

Preschool

  • Saturday, February 15, 10 am
  • Opera center
  • Free, $ 5 minimally offered contribution

The opera time represented by the Seattle Opera maintains language, literacy and socio-emotional development for children aged 2-5. At the Opera Center, the children and their parent or guardian move through a progressive curriculum that explores the opera and the arts through songs, stories and a creative play. You will be able to read together and sing together in this interactive time for a music story.

A great number of birds in the backyard

  • Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 26
  • Your backyard
  • Free

This weekend, join the great number of birds in the backyard by spending only 15 minutes, noticing the birds around you, identifying them, counting them and sending this information to help scientists understand and protect birds around the world. Participation is the great number of birds in the backyard is easy and can be done alone or with others and can be done anywhere you find birds! Just watch birds (in your own yard or in a park) for 15 minutes or more, at least once this weekend. Then use the Merlin Bird ID app to announce what birds you see or hear. If you have participated in the number before and want to save the number of birds, try the Ebird mobile application or enter your bird list on the Ebird website.
