At 5:30pm on Monday, October 28th, a special military family will be in Glendale at Glendale Heroes Regional Park as part of their ambitious journey to run a 5K in all 50 states to raise awareness and funds for cleft conditions and work of Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft-focused organization.
The family is father Jeremy Hough, mother Kelly Hough and their daughters, Caroline and Campbell Hough.
This initiative highlights the challenges faced by children with clefts and the life-changing surgeries Smile Train provides free of charge to families in need.
The Houghs are guided by personal experience, as their daughter Campbell, now 17, was born with a cleft. They know how fortunate they are to have received some of the best care in the United States for her.
Clefts are the most common facial difference in the world, affecting approximately 1 in 700 babies, making it difficult for a person to speak, eat, hear and breathe. There are many children around the world who do not have access to this appropriate high quality cleft care.
The Huffs are on the run to help make a difference. Witness their run and learn how to help raise awareness of cleft conditions. Glendale Heroes Regional Park is on 83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
