Baton Rouge – The LSU men’s basketball team starts a week on Wednesday, when tigers travel to Faetavil to take over the University of Arkansas in Bud Walton Arena.

The game is set for Tipoff shortly after 20:00 CT of ESPN with John Presfen and Richard Hendricks in the conversation. The tiger voice, Chris Blair and former LSU chief coach John Brady will call the LSU Sports Radio Network branch game.

This will be the second match between the two teams with the winner of the LSU 78-74 over Razorbacks in downtown Maravic on January 14th.

The tigers gathered from a few points down half and eight down with 11:47 to play. LSU continued with 20-3, which included 14 consecutive points to go from 52-44 down to nine, 64-55, with 6:07 to play. Arkansas reduced the game to two points by 28 seconds to play, 76-74, but Jordan Sears made two free throws to seal the victory.

The tigers fired 40 percent for the game (22 to 55) with eight-thirds and made a strong 26-on-28 on the line (92.9%). Kam Carter had the highest season of 27 points, with Sears scored 17. Daimion Collins had a high quality career in 10 struggles and tied his career high in blocks with four, as LSU had 11 blocks in this competition.

LSU comes out of a heavy loss to 72-70 at home on Saturday to make it possible when the rebels scored the last 13 points of the game to delete a 70-59 LSU lead in the final 3:15. This deleted what was probably the best 37 -minute LSU game against the rebels.

The tigers would lead in about 30 minutes, and after receiving a lead of 39-33 at the half over the rebels, the tigers would control the second half, building two leads of 11 points. Carter led LSU with 16 points, with Collins adding 15 and Sears 13.

Razorbacks lost on Saturday night at home against Alabama, 85-81. Zvonimir Ivisic had 27 points to lead Razorbacks, making 10 on 18 field goals (including five paths) to go with seven boards, three thefts and three blocks. Adou Thiero hit goals of 8 out of 14 in scoring 22 points. John Davis had 13 points.

Alabama loss stopped a winning series of two Arkansas matches in Kentucky and Texas.

Tyro leads Razorbacks in the celebration of this season, an average of 16.5 points per game, while DJ Wagner is 10.5 and Davis is 10.2 for Razorback coach at the first year and longtime mentor John Calipari.

The tigers after Wednesday will return to the road on Saturday for their first SEC meeting with Oklahoma at Norman at 5:00 pm.
