BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPRUD) — The trial of a Baton Rouge man accused of killing two people at a 2021 Earl Gross Avenue home ended Friday, Oct. 25.
The trial of Brian Laverne, 37, of Baton Rouge, ended in a hung jury, which “occurs when jurors cannot reach a unanimous or majority verdict after lengthy deliberations,” according to the Legal Information Institute.
Laverjean is accused of killing LaQuinca Jackson, 26, and Fredrick Hollins, 33, who were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds at a home in the 4600 block of Earl Gros Avenue around 8:15 p.m. on January 24, 2021.
Lavergne was arrested and initially charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
The Louisiana State Supreme Court suspended an attorney from the practice of law for six months
He was indicted by an East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury in March 2021 on two counts of second-degree murder, according to court documents.
