The man deliberately drove a vehicle to a tanker in Glendale – ktar.com

Phoenix – a man who wanted to commit suicide, took his car to a tanker in Glendale, thinking he would blow up Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The 27 -year -old Joushua Denton drove his car into the big tanker near the 57th Avenue and Camelback Road around 8:30 in the morning, according to the Glendale Police Department.

When the tanker did not blow up, Denton started to start his car, police said. Denton then accused officers, hoping he would shoot him, police added.

The suspect is eventually taken in custody. According to police, there was no shooting.

Although the integrity of the tank has been compromised, the incident does not pose an active threat to the public, police said.

Denton was hospitalized for a short time before being taken to prison.

He faces charges of arson, aggravated attack, threat and criminal damage.

Camelback Road remained closed in both directions between the 55th and 59th Avenue, while Hazmat’s crews worked to control the chemicals.
