Recently, a Renault woman finished the exploits of seven marathons in seven consecutive days on seven different continents known as the World Challenge Marathon.

Molly Sheridan ended the incredible achievement last week.

“It was an incredible adventure from a lifetime, really,” Sheridan said.

Last year, Sheridan, 68, thought it was close to the end of his long-distance days. But the world challenge for a marathon has long been its purpose. The challenge began in 2015 and she had been considering it for several years.

She decided that this year was the time to do it. Sheridan wanted to be the oldest person to meet the challenge, although it turned out that he had another 68-year-old woman this year.

Sheridan has completed numerous runs with ultra -distance, including 120 miles over the weekend last year in Tennessee, so the seven marathons in seven days were not so crazy about her.

Sheridan expires 184 miles a week for the challenge. It wasn’t easy, but it was stubborn.

“I just went into my meditative running every day. I was surprised. I was just pleasant when I clicked for miles, “she said. “It was difficult, don’t get me wrong. I’m still trying to process it. “

What is the world challenge for a marathon?

Sheridan was part of a group of 60 marathons from 26 countries that completed the World Marathon Challenge, such as the final start in Florida on February 6th.

She said she was organized with military precision. The runners had flew to every continent, got off the plane and ran the race, and then returned to the plane to fly to the next continent.

They went into 26,000 miles and spent more than 68 hours on the plane, which was equipped with seats that go beds to be able to sleep.

Sheridan found sponsors for the world challenge for a marathon, with some of the money she raised, going to charity organizations.

“The fee for the race is quite high,” she said. “(Donating charity organizations) was really important to me because it’s always fun when you help people along the way.”

Where was the World Marathon Challenge route for 2025?

The first marathon in the challenge happens on the continental Antarctica, and the last marathon is in Miami.

The global route is Ultima Basecamp (Antarctica), Cape Town (Africa), Perth (Australia), Dubai (Asia), Madrid (Europe), Fortaleza (South America) and Miami (North America).

Reno Marathon Runner Molly Sheridan hopes to encourage others

Sheridan said part of her motivation is to dispel the idea that people cannot train or exercise when they get old.

“This talks a lot about our age ideas and our ideas about what you can and can’t do as you age,” she said. “It just opens the minds of many people that it is not crazy, it is actually fulfilling.”

Sheridan is CEO/founder of Desert Sky Adventures, a company designed to encourage people to reach their physical and mental potential by running.

She said that even just going out and walking 20 minutes a day has huge health benefits for most people.

“It doesn’t take that much to be in good health,” she said. “You don’t have to do seven marathons on seven continents. But it is really important to continue moving, because you will be a healthier person, everywhere, mentally and physically. “

She also has a home in Tuson, Arizona and spends much of the winter there, after which she lives in Renault in summer and autumn.

She and her family organize the annual hesitation before going to the center of Reno every day of gratitude. This year will be the 10th anniversary of the event.

The finalists are recognized by the intercontinental marathon club, which provides the final list of people who have held seven marathons on seven continents within seven days.
