428 USD projects include Washington, cameras – Great Bend Tribune

The oldest part of the Washington School, which is already more than 100 years old, will be demolished next year, said Assistant John Pop to Great Bend School Board on Monday.

Staff

The school board has accepted the following resignations and appointments for the next school year:

• Beth Rhine, principal of Riley Primary School, leaves this position to become a math teacher at Great Bend Secondary School.

• Grant Matthew resigned as director of the Great Bend High School group.

• Cheyenne Rowe resigned as a vocal music teacher at GBMS.

• Richard Coshagarian resigned. He is a sixth grade teacher at Riley Primary School.

• Ashtin Espozito was hired to teach second class at Eisenhower Elementary.

The Council discussed the need for more teachers and replacement teachers.

The registered teacher apprenticeship program is a four -year program designed for unlicensed staff such as teachers and steam to become teachers. They can follow their bachelor’s degree in education while gaining practical experience. HR Director Tonya Miller said the area has 24 candidates for this.

Contributions and grants

The area has received a grant of $ 20,000 from the Pilot Program of the Kansas Preschool Program of the Initiative Initiative Fund. The Little Panthers pre -school must use the funds by June 30.

The Council approved this and other contributions. Park Elementary School received $ 486.35 from Park Booster Club for fundraising awards.

The Kroger Community awards were accepted, with Riley Elementary receiving $ 240.22 and Lincoln Elementary received $ 376.85.
