Play the Little Stick figure on every street in Google Maps on Boise and it is obvious how much the area changed from the first time when the Street View was moving through our area in 2007!

WHile is easy to see where the new construction has evolved or how the facades of buildings have changed, these photos do not capture some of the biggest memories in the Boise area! How many of these things do you remember?

Do the names Bonzai, Corkscrew and Roundhouse know each other? If so, we would dare to assume that you were probably the owner of a seasonal pass in Boise’s original water park. The wild waters were located on the 1850th century and were as summer main as the floating Boyz River.

One of the things that made Wild Waters unique was the fact that he took advantage of some of Boise’s natural topography while building slides. If you are looking for “Wild Waters” in some of the big Boise history groups on Facebook as “Boyz History, Idaho – 1863“Or”Boise & The Treasure Valley History The whole story of Idaho“There are some really cool park images, including an old air image that overlaps the park where it would be in today’s Boyz.

Unfortunately, the wild waters closed and were demolished to make the way to the flying Y. Roaring Springs has never been a competitor to Wild Waters. Instead, it was the birth of five local businessmen that made the ball roll to create something new to fill the gaping void that the community experiences when the wild waters close.

H2overload

Speaking of roaring Springs, do you remember their party on Friday night, Teen Dance Party? According to the park website, it has lasted since 2007-2010.

Of course, you put a bunch of teenagers with raging hormones in an environment where bikini and shorts were the dress code? Well, you can imagine what happened. In the end, Roaring Springs stepped back from the wild teenage party and moved to a more appropriate slide night.

Tambi Nightclub

And there were these uncomfortable years between 18-20. Yes, you were technically adults, but you are still too young to enter the cool clubs of times like China Blue, Main Street Bistro and Fatty’s. So … you went to bogies.

The nightclub was 18+ on Friday for college night and all ages on Saturday night. We are not sure when they have changed the permits of it, but there are some pretty pictures of Cringey from those days On this old Flickr album If you still have an account on this page. We mean teenage braces that grind the boys of their 20s … Kring. Oh, and there are a few videos on YouTube you can do. Ahh … Memories.

If you are our age, do not remember the Eastman building because it burned the year before we were born. But if you were born before January 1987, you may remember the 82 -year -old office building that stood at the corner of eight and main. Once the debris has been cleared, this angle has remained a free hole for years.

Many owners have promised to build a new building on the site, but only when Gardner Company and Zions Bank funded the highest building in Idaho and filled the hole with the eighth and main tower we know today. When it opened in 2014, the owners were celebrating with a huge street party entitled by the goo goo dolls.

Aidaho Stumpede Basketball

We will never understand why Idaho Central Arena’s steel heads can sell, but when Boise’s NBA D-League team there was not quite the same. Oh, do you not remember that Boyz had a basketball team that was not Boise State? We did since 1997-2015 Idaho stompda play in the center of Idaho when he was brand new in 1997 before making the move to Qwest/Centurylink Arena.

The team won the D-League finals in 2007, but until their last season in Boise? Less than 2000 have appeared in their games. The property has moved the team to Salt Lake in the 2016-2017 season and now professional hoops in the center of Boise is only a distant memory.

After the award is the “best family festival in America,” the event used to occupy many places throughout the city: Ann Morrison Park, Julia Davis Park and Parking at Bronanko Stadium. During the celebration, there were concerts, firing of hot air balloons, night lights, carnival walks, fun runways and parades.

In fact, at one point, the parade of river giants included large helium balloons like those you would see on the Macy Thanksgiving Parade. During the evening parade of light, the floats built by the same people who build floats for the rose parade in California was literally floating down the Boyz River. At 15 feet tall, they were big enough to surprise the crowd, but short enough to do it under all the bridges they would meet.

The festival traditionally ends with an incredible 25-minute fireworks produced by Zambelli Internationale, one of the best fireworks companies in the world. The latest festival took place in 2003. According to the Business Review Aidaho, the 2003 festival lost $ 160,000. This will be the last year of the festival.
