Snoballs are back! The collapse opens again on February 15th. See new scents, expansion plans – the advocate

As the Louisiana Weather goes back to a higher rate, the flowers are prepared for flowering, ACS tannica and this weekend, Snoballs Meltdown stands are coming back.

The collapse, known for its finely textured ice and inventive flavors, opens again in Bruceley and Baton Rugs on February 15th. Now, in his fourth season of operation, owner Zane Clayton wants to expand. He plans to open his first place outside the country by the end of the year, and this year, for the first time, the Sno-Ball stand will remain open throughout the year.

Clayton grew up in Addis and visits the Academy of Mathematical Scientific Arts – West. He came up with the idea of a business at the age of 15 while still in high school.

Zein Clayton adds the aroma of Meltdown juice while making Snoball in Meltdown Snoballs on Monday, February 10, 2025 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“As a child, I always had a love for Sno-Balls,” he said.

As he grew up, he visited Sno-Ball stands, sometimes several times a day. On weekends, he would start his day with Sno-Ball before breakfast. On weekdays, his mother would take him to a Sno-Ball stand on his way home from school and sometimes again after graduating from her homework.

He wanted to get into the business himself, and when an old barber shop in Barley became available, he used $ 6,000, which made the sale of Popsicles from his house and flipped golf carts and resold them to hire the place. He was too young to sign the documents, but his mother completed the LLC documents in her name and placed him as an agent.

By the time it was said and done, he was 16 and was running a small business.

“I feel it was over 200 pages (of documents),” said his mother Amy Nicole Clayton. “It was a lot of things we had to do, but I want to say that everything for my child.”

Now at 20, says Zane Clayton, he eats, breathes and sleeps with pads. It is usually on the Sno-Ball machine in Bruceley.

“This is my favorite part,” he said. “But I also like to communicate with clients. I just like to see a bright smile on people’s faces as they approach the order window. “

His business has expanded to a food trailer called Meltmobile (usually parked outside the Brusly place when it is not at an event) and a location of Highland Road near the northern LSU gate. He said he had already won more than six figures in his business and worked on the side of other young entrepreneurs to do the same. He is especially proud to return to his elementary school last year and serves Sno-Balls from Meltmobile.

The overall favorite aroma of Zein Clayton is the collapse juice: a tropical flavored SNO, which corresponds to the bright blue exterior in all the crashes.

“It’s sweet, but it’s not too sweet,” he said.
