Habersham – Georgia’s investigation bureau arrests a man from South Carolina with methymphemine trafficking after an investigation.

A South Carolina man was arrested after an investigation conducted by the Regional Drug Enforcement Service in GBI Appalachia (ARDEO). Samuel Devan Jones, 30, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possessing a firearm during a crime and possessing a firearm by a convicted criminal.

On January 29, 2025, Georgia’s State Patrol (GSP) withdrew Jones to violate the Georgia highway 365 to the north in Habersham County. During a search of GSP, approximately 4.5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine and firearms were found inside the car. Subsequently, Jones, the only resident of the vehicle, was arrested.

Jones was booked at Habersham County Prison.

GSP, the Sheriff’s office of Habersham and Ardeo County participated in this investigation.

The investigation is active and continuing.
