Musician Alex Simon says goodbye to his Ranger Ranger residence in The Mystic

“The shows were a way that I can constantly make an hour and a half to two hours of music to perform every month for Santa Fe,” says musician Alex Simon about his recent residence at the Boutique Hotel The Myst. Signature mix of Simon from indie/rock/electronics/cooling/country/classic guitar tunes certainly has a home here in the city, but even more so

Often, he has been taking them on the road lately.

“I just didn’t make local shows for a very long time,” he says. “In a sense, yes, I do [this music] For the show – the most upcoming thing in my calendar; And since live music is a place where so many of my materials crystallize … This is a way to get ideas that I would not go the other way. “

The ongoing residence includes an abundance of collaboration with acts such as Melas Leukos, Vesinoz, Gaideo Sanchez and Evelyn Drah. The largest

However, the surprise, according to Simon, is how the pumped crowds became over time.

“I think I assumed that it would be more – that we will play some dance music and do some improvisation, but perhaps the origin of everything that happens; A variety halfway between wallpaper and social atmosphere, “he explains. “I didn’t expect this need to dance. I have found that people are eager to dance and meet people, and it’s as cool to be a part of this in a time as winter when we don’t have to do a whole tone of it. “

To envelop things this weekend, Simon welcomes a cavalcada from guest musicians. Just know that this will be your last chance to catch this particular show as we know it. Of course, Tone Ranger will still call Santa Fe Home, so who knows what the future has? (Alex de Vor)
