The Fish and Wildlife Board invites public commentary on the updates from the state fishing regulations – Vermont Bus

VTF & W Photo: According to the proposed new fishing regulations, it will no longer be legal to sell Crappie, a popular game for a game that is related to bass and solar fish.

Vermont Business Magazine The Board of Fish and Wildlife in Vermont invites a public commentary on a few proposed changes to the rules of state fishing.

The proposed changes to 10 VSA APP § 141, 10 VSA App § 122, 10 VSA App § 123 and 10 VSA App § 124 were introduced to the Fish and Wildlife Council at its meeting on January 15, 2025. All proposed new language is available In the “Active Creation Creation” section of the website on board.

Remarkable proposed changes will:

  • Add the restrictions on the pantfie bag in the internal waters of 50 fish in total per day and no more than 25 of a species, for a blue zone, Billhad, black -white crap, pumpkin seed, rock bass, white perch and yellow perch (§ 122) S
  • Update the list of seasonally closed caviar waters and expand the spring closure window to protect the fish to spawn (§ 122 and § 124).
  • Require a new Approval of the seller of fish For fishermen who want to sell Panfish. Approval holders will have to take into account sales of their fish so that biologists can better understand the commercial sale of fish (§ 123).
  • Add the black -white crap to the list of game species, banned for sale and purchase (§ 123).
  • Increase The size of the allowable traps of the mining to allow fishermen to catch a greater fish for bait (§141).
  • Clarify the rules for transporting wild bait fish between water bodies to allow some movement of a wild bait of certain water bodies (§ 141).

The department will accept a public comment by April 7, 2025, via email to [email protected]S Four public hearing will be held on the following dates and places:

  • Monday, March 24 – Montpellier – Supreme Court building in Vermont, 111 State St., Conference Hall #110, 18:30 – 9:00 pm.
  • Tuesday, March 25 – St. Obans – City Education Center, 169 Main St., Library Room, 18:30 – 21:00.
  • Thursday, March 27 – Rutland – Rutland High School, 22 Stratton Rd., Lecture, 18:30 – 9:00 pm
  • Monday, March 31-Virtual-Microsoft Equippi (by connection or by phone up to 802-828-7667 with code 435865335#), 18: 30-21: 00 h.
