At the Basketball College, the life of the balloon is stressful.

Every game, every minute and every possession feels like life or death. It doesn’t matter how you win or who won the game for you; Winning is all that matters. Against Western Virginia on Tuesday night, the Cogars needed a contribution from almost everyone on their list to get the stubborn victory 73-69 on the road in Morgantown.

The cougars began the game cold, missing their first five shots before Egor Demin finally received his first arrangement to fall after missing his first two shots. Demin and Byu once again turned the ball repeatedly in the first five minutes of action, which led to easy western Virginia baskets at the other end. Toby Akani was the main recipient of these speeds and scored a fast 9 points to give the mountaineers an advantage of 14-7 with 14:30 in the first half.

After Demin’s second turnover, BYU coach Kevin Young turned to the reserve point of Dalin Hall to enter and give Cougars a certain speed. The living room came in accurately and hit goals from 3 points back to give the BYU lead with one point at 15-14.

From there, none of the team leads more than one possession for the rest of the half. Canon’s catch helped Cougars stay in the game, as he was fouled in two attempts at 3 points, scored in 5 out of 6 of his free throws and hit another 3 to lead Byu by 8 points in the first half. Cougars’s bench exceeded the mountaineers 21-8 in the first half and 38-18 for the whole game. Byu’s bench kept it in the game, despite the slow ones, it starts with Demin and Richie Sonders.

Both crimes fought to shoot the ball, although both teams had a quality appearance. Byu and West Virginia launched under 40% of the pitch and the cougars were only 10 out of 28. Despite such a bad half of shooting, Byu led 32-31 after Trey Stuart struck deep 3 at the end of the clock with a shot A minute. But the full court of the curls pressed at the end of the half and gave up a wide 3 powell to run 34-32 on the break.

The climbers continued this momentum in the second half when they popped up to 42-36 after another wide-open 3-point shot of Powell fell. The cougars fought to keep the game close as Saunders and Demin began to find success in insult, driving to the basket as desired. The problem was every time BYU reduced Western Virginia deficiency within possession, they could not make any stops.

Down 52-46, the mountaineers again recruited steam before Stuart checked into the game and scored on the baseline (BLOB) in a reverse. In the next game, he buried a wide open threesome from the corner to cut the western Virginia’s lead to one.

But despite BYU’s best efforts, they couldn’t stop the results that they had to finally lead. The climbers carved the defense of the BYU area and attacked the Fouseyni Traore Reserve Center in many of their actions. Forward 58-56, the striker of the Western Virginia Amani Hansbury put the possessions on the back to extend the lead back to six at 62-56, forcing Young to call a time-out with 6:25, which remained in the second half.

The next 6:25 of the gameplay was one of the most important sections of the Cugars season. Losers of two in a row, with upcoming matches against the Red Kansas State team, No. 17 Kansas and Road Game in Arizona No. 13, BYU’s backs were opposite the wall.

So the cougities came out small with Mikhail Boskovic in the center. Allowing Demin to enter the ingestion mode. The last five halves of Demin basketball were one of his oldest this season, but in the second half and to end the game, Demin was incredible. Outside the timeout, he set off for the basket and shot a balance outside the I-1 balance to reduce the deficit to three.

Then Mawot Mag made two incredible protective plays, stole a pass in the background, which led to two fake shots and attracted an offensive foul of the leading goalkeeper of the big 12 Javon small of the ball. In the next offensive possession, Saunders entered the paint, causing many defenders of the West Virginia to collapse, leaving Boskovich to bury 3.

It’s not over yet. The climbers made plays, but Demin was better. Byu released a beautiful set game to arrange in the basket. Then Demin hit an incredible clock 3 for the last second to give byu a 68-65 lead with a stay under four minutes.

The climbers would not have gone and answered 4-0 quickly. The cougars played incredible protection, switching one to five, but gave up two offensive bounces. The climbers had 69-68 with 2:13, but Demin continued to play.

Not often Demin makes a protective game that changes the game, but he did it against the mountaineers. With Mawot Mag, the ball pressed, Demin stripped small by less than a second at the watch clock and went to the races. That is, as he reached out and grabbed Demin from the back to stop the speed. After a prolonged examination confirmed the overall fake call, he stepped to the line and calmly swung both free throws to give BYU a one-point lead, 70-69.

In the subsequent possession, Joseph Jesfu received a clean look at 3 for West Virginia, but fell apart. Byu had a chance to seal it, and Young called a time-out to draw a side game beyond Demin’s borders. After Saunders Dribble Handoff, Demin came off the Boskovic screen.

When Boskovic’s husband went with the ball manipulator, Demin returned him to Boskovic, who descended on the tape and ended on the rim for I-1. He broke the free throw to give the byu a four -point lead and to seal the game. Cugars, after leaving most of the game, won 73-69.

Cugars needed a contribution from everyone and they received them. Demin led by -with 16 points, scoring 14 in the second half. The catch finished with 11 points, Saunders had 9 points, Stewart scored 8, Traiore scored 7, and Boskovic had the 6 largest points at night.

Twelve players saw the BYU court and needed all 12 to get a complete victory on the road. The climbers were led by Okani, which scored 16 points, Powell and Jesfu added in 11, and the little one was detained up to 9 points, but there were nine assists.

After turning the ball over 10 times in the first half, Byu only transferred it twice in the second half and overtook the West Virginia with 10.

Cugars have done enough to survive, keep their NCAA hopes alive.
