Columbia, SC – South Carolina’s Ministry of Trade has announced that the world leader of energy management Ethan is expanding its presence in the state with an investment of $ 340 million in Union County. The new production facility will create 700 jobs and support the production of three -phase transformers, which are crucial to modernizing the nation’s power network.

Eaton, which works in more than 160 countries, has a long history in South Carolina. The new site in Jonesville will mark the company’s 11th facility in the state and its third US factory, dedicated to the production of three-phase transformers. The facility of 861,000 square meters, located at 6802 Furman L. Fendley Highway, will be resurrected for production, with operations and hiring will begin in 2027.

To support the recruitment and training, Eaton will cooperate with Readysc and regional schools. In addition, the Coordinating Economic Development Council approves project development loans for the project, together with a grant for a $ 10 million rural infrastructure fund to support Union County with building improvements.
