UCI Women’s Basketball reverses the WIN script against UCSD, 56-49 – New University

The UCI Women’s Basketball Team (16-6, 10-2) continued its success in the conference game with a 56-49 victory against UC San Diego (11-13, 7-5) of Liontree Arena on February 8th.

After winning their last two games, the Ayers entered the game against San Diego, looking for victory against a team floor. 500, and San Diego is striving to download the Greater Government Champions. Although UC Riverside’s San Diego route would have recently been difficult for the tritons to defeat the second ranked anteaters of the conference.

Irvin’s junior guard Olivia Williams launched the score by hitting a jumper, only for the security of the sophomore San Diego Sugaya Sugapong to go for a single run by 5-0. This was the trend for the greater part of the game. Despite the decent offensive contributions in the first quarter-most of the sophomore Summah Hanson-Rvine entered the second quarter, following 12-8.

Promise began to build when the junior UCI Hunter Hunter guard Hunter Hernandez struck both free throws for his first two points of the game. However, this caused only more insult to the three tits that managed to show 17-12 before Hernandez found his groove.

In the back plays, Hernandez sank two triangers and gave UCI a short-lived 18-17 lead. After San Diego continued with 6-0, which was closed by a Jumper from Sugapong, Ervine stood up again.

Hanson hit the arrangement, but another running from Tritons ballooning the score to 32-22. Both teams were quietly offensive to the rest of the quarter, which ended with the 32-25 triton lead-15 points of Sugapong in the first half were a big reason why.

The third quarter began with the arrangement and free throw of the senior UCI guard Nicky Tom, who started 8-0 and gave Irvine a small lead of 33-32. However, San Diego tried to keep his lead throughout the quarter. In the fashion of the projection, the three tits took on the leading role and then UCI freshman Lorin Madson tied it just to take on San Diego again.

At the end of the third quarter, the graduate of Irvine Nevae Dean and Hernandez struck the triplets and Williams struck a jumper to consolidate 44-38 leads for UCI.

To start the fourth quarter, San Diego reduced the lead by half and tried to start his own return. Fortunately for Ervine, Hanson continued to produce, hitting and free throwing to start running 8-0. Suddenly San Diego descended 11 with a little time for mail.

The senior security of Irvine Amelia Sharpf scored his first and only points from the game at the end of the fourth quarter, hitting three index finger to give up the previous run of anteater 8-0. With two free throws later in the game, she placed the cherry on top of 56-49 victory for Ervine. In perhaps the most satisfying return of the season so far, UCI confronted the 10-point deficit in the second quarter and managed to go out with a win.

With 15 points, Hernandez was back on the top of the Irvin score sheet. She bounced out of the injury to lead the No. 143 Nationally Raised UCI team in the second place in the Big West Conference so far. Only half a game behind them, Ervine will play Hawaii on February 15th at the Bren’s Events Center.
