The Alaska man found guilty of the nephew’s shooting after the funeral in West Feliciana – the lawyer

Alaska hunting guide, which drove to Louisiana for a family funeral and then shot his nephew repeatedly, was sentenced to the courtroom of Western Felici last week.

The jurors were discussed for about two hours on Thursday and found 68 -year -old James Blake, guilty of attempted murder for the shooting in 2022, which left Michael Lancaster with wounds on the face, neck and back, said the 20th Judicial District Prosecutor Sam d’Aquila.

Blake will be raised up to 20 years in prison when he appeared on March 6th.

The shooting took place on December 19, 2022. Blake shot Lancaster three times at Point Blank Range during disputes after family members launched Lancaster’s father to rest.

Prosecutors said Blake was driving a recreation vehicle from Alaska to St. Francisville for the funeral of his son -in -law Richard Lancaster. Michael Lancaster came to the city from Alabama to give his father’s final respect.

The incident that escalates to firing happened four days after Richard Lancaster’s death – just after the funeral. Blake visited his half of his half along 966, and prosecutors said a dispute began because other relatives accused Blake of intervention in family affairs, despite the fact that he had only visited two to four times in the last 50 years.

D’Aquila said that Blake asked the victim to follow him, where he shot him three times.

One of the bullets looked at Michael Lancaster’s left cheek, another hit him in the neck, and the third bullet remained in his left shoulder.
