Sarwar accused of “Facial Save” after Grangemouth Closure Radio Silence – Irvine Times

The Unite Union said Anas Sarvar’s comments came after the redundancies were already awarded to workers.

The Scottish work leader told the BBC Scotland on Monday that there was no “nowhere close to enough progress” to help workers at the plant near Folker.

“Where we are right now, it’s not good enough,” he said.

“We need to see more progress and we have to see a stronger answer that enters the future.”

Sarvar said that the United Kingdom government “seems stable” for the future for the site, adding: “Where we are now, there is some progress, but nowhere close to enough progress and I continue to press this case.”

Thompson said the comments of Scottish work leader had come too late.

He told the good morning program in Scotland on BBC on Tuesday: “We welcome Anas Sarvar’s comments that there is now not enough progress in support of refinery workers, but the reality is that these words have come too late and that Following is the notifications of the redundancies last week.
