In an X post, West Midlands Railway, which operates routes from Hereford via Ledbury and Colwall to Worcester and Birmingham, announced today that services between Hereford and Birmingham will be cut due to a shortage of train crew.
The rail company added that disruption to the main route was expected until the end of today (October 27). However, he added that there will be rail replacement buses for the affected routes.
Today’s announcement comes after several instances of disruption to the West Midlands route over the past two months.
In September, service cancellations and delays in the West Midlands left students stranded at the station, with a local MP stepping in.
West Worcestershire MP Dame Harriet Baldwin previously wrote to the rail operator’s managing director and shared her immediate concerns with the Department for Transport.
The last-minute cancellation left many MP constituents unable to travel between Hereford and Worcester and Hereford Sixth Form College.
