Heathrow records the most busy January with a 5% increase in the number of passengers – Irvine Times

More than 6.3 million passengers traveled through the four terminals at the West London airport last month.

This is over 5% of 6.0 million in January 2024.

The airport said Transatlantic Travel is a “key contribution” to growth.

More than 1.2 million passengers traveled between Heathrow and the United States in January, which is 8% compared to a year earlier.

As a result of Chancellor Rachel Reeves, who gave her support for the third track, Heathrow said in a statement that the project would require changes in policy, including for modernization, planning airspace and regulatory regime.

The statement added that Heathrow “works with our stakeholders to finalize our plans” and intends to “present our government proposal by the summer.”

Heathrow Executive Director Thomas Waldby said: “2025 started how we want to continue-to serve record number of passengers and provide trade and investment throughout the United Kingdom.

“To ensure that we are continuing in this trajectory upwards, the government has signaled their support for extended Heathrow.

“We will now work with ministers to progress the necessary changes in the policy needed to progress our growth plans.”
