Two aircraft collided at Scotsdale Airport in Arizona, 1 dead, several injured – aviation A2Z

Arizona- A fatal clash between two private aircraft at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona led to one death and multiple injuries on Monday, February 11, 2024.

The incident happened when the Learjet 35A deviated from the track after landing and hit a parked business aircraft Gulfstream 200.

Airplanes collided at the Airport in Scotsdale

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that the crash happened around 14:45 local time. Learjet wore four passengers, while the stationary Gulfstream had one inhabitant on board.

Aviation Planning Coordinator Kelly Custer has confirmed that the clash has become privately owned by the airport.

The National Transport Safety Council (NTSB) took over the investigation management with the help of FAA. Both agencies will look at the circumstances leading to the deviation of the track and the subsequent clash.

Crash asked life, injured repeatedly

Scottsdale’s airport clash led to many casualties, with two casualties being transported to traumatic centers and one in a stable state at a local hospital.

The captain of the fire service of Scottsdale Dave Folio confirmed the constant rescue efforts to extract one person caught in one of the aircraft.

Airport authorities have closed the runway indefinitely after the incident. Closing significantly affects operations in this key aviation center, which usually serves a large volume of private jet traffic during major events such as the nearby Phoenix Open Waste Management Tournament.

Incident

This clash marks the fourth major US aviation accident after two weeks. Previous incidents include a collision on January 29 between a commercial plane and an army helicopter near Washington, killing 67 people.

A crash of medical transport in Philadelphia on January 31 led to seven casualties, including one person on Earth. Subsequently, a plane crash of travelers in Western Alaska took ten lives on the way to a nom.
