Related firing on Sunday, Brpd says – WBRZ

Baton Rouge – two shootings that happened half a mile apart on Sunday nights are connected, police told WBRZ on Monday.

Batton Rouge police officers said that 42-year-old Antoine Parker was found shot dead to Jackson Street near the corner of 30th street around 7:45 pm on Monday Derrick Holmes was taken in custody of Parker’s murder.

At 8:15 pm, police responded to a separate half -mile shooting from where Parker was killed. One person was taken to a hospital in stable condition. WBRZ has learned that Holmes is a transported person.

“Detectives were able to bring the two shootings together, and the victim from the 39th street was actually suspected and he was arrested for killing Antoine Parker, a public information official at Batton Rouge. said Soodra Watts.

It is not clear who shot Holmes, but the officers said there was a firearm on his feet.

Watts said with the help of the community that they had managed to unleash the case.

Brpd is still looking for the relationship between Holmes and Parker.
