Culpeper – Snow and ice are expected to move to the Culpeper neighborhood early Tuesday morning and extend on Wednesday afternoon. The National Meteorological Service has issued a winter storm warning today for a large part of the Piedmont region by Wednesday afternoon.

The storm is expected to bring 7 to 9 inches of snow, rainfall and freezing rain in the region, making dangerous driving conditions. VDOT crews are stabbing Interstate 64 and Interstate 66 today and organizing crews in the area to work around the clock in 12-hour shifts. Drivers must be cautious about heavy equipment, which prepares road sails and allow a lot of space to work for them.

Make your final preparations today and plan to travel around the storm. Once the snow starts to fall, stay out of the way to allow our crews to push snow and get the road sails as needed to make them passable.
