The most honorary commanders of the 17th training wing participated in the 17th immersion of a training group at the Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, February 6th.

In order to start their training day, the honorary commanders met with the senior management of the 312, 313, 315 and 316th training squadrons; 17 -AC Squadron for training support and 17th TRG. This forum provided the opportunity to ask questions and to gain an idea of my respective missions.

After this session, they went to the 312nd training squadron, where they were appropriate and tried to train the protection against fire protection, which students should master before switching to operational units in the Air Force. At the Ministry of Louis F. F. Garland, the honorary commanders participated in strategies for saving aircraft and strategies for the extraction of vehicles. Throughout the morning, they spoke with fire instructors who gave an idea first -hand about the strict training of fire protection.

They then toured intelligence, monitoring and intelligence training facilities, including the 315 TRS, the 316th TRS and the joint expeditionary operations to progress progress operations. This was the first time the commander’s honorary class received privileged access to these sensitive individual information facilities, offering them a unique perspective on how Goodfellow prepares ISR Warriors.

The honorary commanders then visited the 17th TRESS Instructive Technology Department to explore innovative training methods designed to improve technical education. ITU demonstrates how instructors can effectively train students, while ensuring that they receive practical experience before entering the operational field. Using virtual reality headsets, honorary commanders have immersed themselves in the same training environments as students, receiving a more in-depth grade for avant-garde training instruments used in Goodfellow.

The immersion of honorary commanders in the operations of the 17th TRG emphasizes the strong partnership between Goodfellow and the San Angelo community. These engagements provide local leaders with a more in -depth understanding of the Air Force mission while enhancing the cooperation that divides Goodfellow. By encouraging these relations, the base guarantees lasting support for both members of the service and the city, which is proud to stand by them.

“It was the first day of the third class of honorary commanders with SCIF visits for briefings by commands and instructors of 313 TRS, 315 TRS and 316 TRS. On a visit to 312 TRS, all honorary commanders had the opportunity to enter the rescue and fire trucks with ultra-high pressure and move the nozzles and spray the water, “said Alicia Aguilar, the facilitator of an honorary commander. “They are the first class to experience both training practices.”
