Lawrence police are investigating alleged sexual assault on two students – Wibw

Lawrence, Kan. (WIBW) – Lawrence police have launched an investigation on Saturday, February 8, in the alleged sexual assault of two students at Prairie Park Elementary.

A concerned parent of a student called the police on Saturday morning about events that happened during the school day on Friday, February 7th.

Investigators have quickly revealed evidence that led to the arrest of Mark Elliott Grridley, a 60-year-old speech and a language pathologist at the school.

Investigators learned about a second possible victim on Monday morning, which also happened on Friday morning at school.

Lawrence police are working closely with the Center for Advocacy of Children in Douglas County, USD 497 Administrators and the District Prosecutor’s Office to ensure that all expert services are coordinated to disclose the full scope of the potential damage and crimes.

Police have also created a telephone line, (785) 830-7430, for parents who may need to report concern for their child and any contact with Mark Grridley. Police want every parent who may have concerns about the interaction of their child with gridley, to contact law enforcement before discussing it with it in depth with their child.
