After their impressive win at the first Black Label DJ clash finals in Bulawayo, DJ Irvine X (Mutare) and Toxi Gyn (Bulawayo) continue to make waves on the music scene.
The talented duo recently graced the stage at the prestigious Castle Braai Festival, captivating thousands of attendees with their electrifying performances.
DJ Irvine X, the overall winner of the Black Label DJ clash, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to share the stage with renowned artists such as Winky D and Kamo Mpela.
“It was a dream come true to participate in such a high-profile event,” he said. “I learned a lot and gained invaluable experience from veterans like DJ Elroy and Andyle,”
Toxi Gyn, who secured second place in the DJ clash, echoed Irvine X’s sentiments, emphasizing the confidence-boosting nature of the experience. “Performing at the Castle Braai Festival was an important milestone in my career,” he said.
“It opened doors for me and inspired me to strive for even greater heights. Such events lift your spirit and confidence. You learn a lot and approach the next group or business engagement differently. I am grateful to Delta Beverages for the opportunity and hopefully more doors will open,” he said.
Launched in October 2024, the Black Label DJ clash attracted over 250 aspiring DJs from Zimbabwe. Eight regional clashes were held in different cities, with the winners from each region advancing to the grand final in Bulawayo.
DJ Irvine X emerged victorious in the final, winning a substantial cash prize and a set of gear. Toxi Gyn also received prize money and equipment for his impressive performance.
The Castle Braai Festival, a popular annual event, featured a diverse line-up of musicians and DJs including Winky D, Khamo Mpela, Master H, Saintfloew and many more.
The festival showcased Zimbabwe’s vibrant music scene and provided a platform for talented artistes to connect with their fans.
