In Fremonth, leaders are ready to vote for a new ordinance that could punish people to help people stay in a homeless camp.

Many regulations or laws in California have illegally made the camp on any street or sidewalk.

But this proposal at Fremont would take it even more.

The proposed rule states that anyone who “causes, resolves, assists, promotes, encourages or conceals” illegal camp can be charged with a crime and confronted with a $ 1,000 fine and six months in prison.

Activists are worried that this can be used against assistants who provide services to non -excellent communities.
