South Carolina Gamecocks in “Unknown Territory” according to Dawn Staley – Sports Illustrated

According to dawn chief coach, Staley in South Carolina have entered the “unfamiliar territory”.

Gamecocks in South Carolina won their first loss at a regular season conference for the first time in three seasons. Texas Longorns beat Gamecocks with a final result of 66-62. This is the second loss of South Carolina for the season when they enter the last section of their schedule at the conference.

As mentioned above, South Carolina does not lose many games, especially for opponents of the conference. Thus, the chief coach Down Staley was asked about it after the match.

“This is an unfamiliar territory for us,” Staley said. “This is the first game we have lost in two years.

Earlier in the season, Gamecocks continued a winning series of 10 plus matches, which led to South Carolina to set a new program record for most consecutive double-digit victories. Gamecocks were the dominant force similar to last season, and it has them in a strong place to have a chance to defend their title this season.

“I’m just glad they didn’t get us where we can’t survive,” Steeli said. “We still control our own fate. We have to look around a little and hope someone will break down Texas or LSU so that we control it until the end of the road.”

Gamecocks will close their season with a home match against Florida, at home against Uconn, at home against Arkansas, on the road against Vanderbilt, on the road against Ole Miss and then at home against Kentucky.
