Non -Profit suicide in Las Vegas at the risk of losing on site – FOX 5 Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nev. (FOX5) – a suicide of a non -profit northern Las Vegas, by pedaling forward.

Those who participate in the bicycle program in “Forgotten has not disappeared” gather to help each other.

The most data from veterans’ questions show that more than 6400 veterans have died of suicide in 2022.

These numbers hit the home for veterans fighting in the valley.

For veteran Reggie Curie, he returned home after he was 8 years old in the army and realized that adaptation to civic life was more difficult than realized.

“When I am homeless, I want to give up, feeling that there is no reason to be alive, I do not secure my children, I have no way of securing a job,” Currie Sad. “I almost gave myself a deadline that if I was unable to find a job or get some goal, it wasn’t even worth it to be here.”

The deadline that Curie gave was June 17, 2016, but the universe had other plans for it.

“One day before my deadline, this event happens,” Curry said.

This event Curie came across special lying bicycles.

“I jumped at the motors and started riding around, immediately I felt I had a goal,” Curie said.

Part of this goal may have been to meet Peter and Kelly Giddle, disabled veterans that founded the forgotten have not disappeared.

“This is a different breed of people who serve, we are taught to really be able to divide the opportunity to make you, which keeps you alive, but the opposite is true when you get out, we divide and we are the best in isolation.” – – Kelly said.

Isolation is where Kelly found her husband Peter.

Kelly tells Fox5 that only when a PA psychiatrist visit is that Kelly learned that her husband at the age of 16 had her own deadline.

“I just really crashed my heart to know the person I lie next to the person I think I help to consider this to go out,” Kelly said.

However, as doctors recommended that Peter get a lying bicycle.

Kelly said she was able to see a difference in Peter within a month.

The couple bought another one, and then another thinking that this could be the answer to veterans that fight in silence.

This made them start their non -profit purpose, forgotten not to disappear.

There are veterans who ride 22 miles together every time they go on the road.

“It is in honor of the 22 lives that have been lost daily, so we ride this in honor of our fallen veterans and active duties,” Kelly said.

Their non -profit purpose has helped many veterans to deal with their fight against partner support, bicycle rides and consultations.

Now there is another obstacle that they have to go through.

Their lease, where the engines are stored and meet with veterans, is in a few months.

According to Kelly, if they do not raise $ 120,000 over the next two months to pay for the lease next year, they are not sure where to continue the next one.

“We have to raise $ 120,000 and be able to stay here for another year, or move to another place that has direct access to the path. We have the cheapest rent, which is about $ 8,600 a month, “Kelly said.

Kelly told Fox5 that some of the veterans are already anxiety about the future of non -profit purpose.

“I just don’t want to be there for them because we spend a lot of money on reaction dollars after someone is already on this threshold to want to take your life or if it is homeless or whatever it is, but we can save so much more Money if we use it for preventive dollars, “Kelly said.

So far, non -profit goals will continue to conduct its group bicycle sessions throughout the week.
