The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the one-vehicle crash happened just before 10 a.m. on Oct. 26, 2024, on northbound I-15 just before the Main Street exit.

For reasons that are still under investigation, the male driver of a dark gray Nissan Titan lost control, struck the ditch on the right shoulder and struck a steel freeway sign just before the Main St. turnoff.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene and confirmed that the driver was trapped in the seat and would have to be extricated.

Firefighters were able to extricate him from the truck and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

We will update this story with more information when the preliminary CHP report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be investigated by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville office.
