State Senator Christie New Craig has provided documentation, including registration of voters and information on personal property tax as evidence of her residence during her campaign in 2023 at a home in the area she was hired by an employee of The campaign.

The documents were provided by lawyer Anthony Troy on behalf of New Craig and her already chief employee Barbara Sugelia after reporting a Virgin pilot about questions about the new Craig residence during her candidacy for the Senate district 19.

The documents cover from March 2023 to January 2025 and include personal ownership tax records from the city Former Senator John Kosgrove’s headquarters, Republican.

The documents show that her voter registration was changed in March 2023 to indicate a home in a home in a 600 block of Valor Court in Chesapike, the home hired by SGUGGLIA. They also show that New Craig continues to receive mail there until June 2023 and states that she receives a post office at a 500 block of the Tunnel Court in Chesapik in early July 2023. Both residences are within the Senateski boundaries County 19.

When, in March 2023, New Craig filed documents to run as a Republican for district 19, which covers parts of Chesapike and Virginia Beach, she used the Valora court address and described it as her place of residence.

A copy of the lease of the property, signed in January 2022, did not list New Craig as a tenant for a two -storey four -bedroom home, and property owners said they had never hired New Craig. They also said they had not been notified that New Craig was using the address. Recently, they said the home was hired by Sgueglia, which was included in the election as a cashier of the New Craig campaign.

The new Craig and Sugelia were critical of the pilot’s reporting on the Senator’s residence, according to Troy. In a statement, he pointed to a clause in the lease, which allows six inhabitants, including no more than four adults.

The pilot turned to New Craig and Sugelia repeatedly in December for comment. In a statement by email New Craig, he said he lives in district 19 throughout his offer to the State Senate, but did not provide documentation on where he lives and does not answer subsequent questions.

Sugelia also did not respond to attempts to contact her at the time. The documents provided to the pilot in January by New Craig’s lawyer is the first to be provided as evidence of her residence at the Valor Court home.

“Apparently, Sgueglia correctly allowed Senator a new Craig to reside in the ownership of Valor Court under the conditions of a legal lease that you have neglected,” Troy told the pilot in a statement. “Seni. New Craig was also a legal candidate for the office he now owns. Every statement of otherwise is just obviously false. ”

In order to run for a selected position, Virginia requires candidates to be residents for at least one year, preceding the elections, and senators and delegates must live in the areas they represent. All 140 seats in the General Assembly were on the 2023 election newsletter.

New Craig’s residence issues prompted a Republican and a democratic opponent who was running against her in 2023 to investigate. As the pilot reported earlier, they both said they were unable to find evidence that New Craig was not living in the area.

The documents provided by Troy are tax records for personal property from the city of Chesapik, which were sent to Novi Craig in January to the home of the tunnel. The data included in these records are listed the address of Valor Court and the home of the Meadow Wood Drive as previous addresses, with a note that the mail was returned from the address of the Meadow Wood Drive in March 2023.

It is unclear whether Meadow Wood’s drive address was where New Craig resides just before changing his address at the Valor Court address, but this address is not in the Senate County 19.

In addition, an official payment record for the New Craig time working for Cosgrove included the Valor Court address in April 2023, and another one of September 2023 showed the tunnel address. Troy also provided screenshots of two products for products delivered to New Craig at the Valor Court address, one in May 2023 and one in June 2023.

Another document is a bill from the city of Edenton, North Carolina, sent to the Valor Court address, with a notice of the new address in the tunnel court. New Craig owns an apartment in Edenton, according to her statement of economic interests, signed in March 2024.

In response to a phone call, voicemail and email last week, New Craig asked a reporter to send questions by email, but did not answer a few questions, looking for a clarification. Sgueglia also refused to answer follow -up questions about the Valor Court address.

“It is clear that Senator New Craig legally resides in the Senate district 19 at the time of the main, as well as at the time of the general elections,” Troy said in a statement.
