A 14-year blow killed in East Leon County; 10th Pedestrian Death This Year – AOL

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Sunday afternoon in East Leon County.

FHP spokesman Patricia Jefferson-Show said the 14-year-old was hit at about 12:05 pm on the Miccosukee road near Edenfield Road in front of the Miccosukee Greenway. He was in a critical condition when he was taken to a local hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

There are no other details that are released on Monday morning. This is the 10th mortality rate for pedestrians so far this year in the capital and the county.

“We are broken by the recent tragedy on the Miccosukee road and we send our deepest thoughts and prayers to the affected families,” wrote Leon Brian Welch County Commissioner on Facebook. “We will do our best to improve the safety of the intersection, including an order survey to determine if a stop is needed. Please be careful if you are traveling through this area.”
