Elbadada solid a pair of school records in Boston – South Carolina Gamecocks

Boston, Massachusetts (February 8, 2025) – South Carolina Track & Field closed a pair of meetings on Saturday after competing on Invitational on the east coast in Virginia Beach, Washington and The Scarlet & White Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts.

Salma Elbadra stole the Beantown show with a pair of program records. Wyoming’s transfer broke the school record in the indoor mile in women working with 4: 31.01 to download the previous brand of Silan Aildiz from 4: 32.14. Later during the day, Elbadada cut another one of the Ayyildiz records, this time in 3K, when she started 8: 58.95 to best the previous program record of 9: 10.54. In addition, Elbadra finished as a top colleague in each of the two events.

The Gamecock distance squad saw a huge success in Boston by posting 11 additional best 10 grades on the program to complement Elbadra’s new records. In accordance with the Women’s Distance Squad, there were eight new achievements in the top 10 program. Anya Arroyo published the best common end with a runner-up from 16: 24.70 in 5K, the third fastest time in Gamecock history. There were four new achievements in women 3K in the form of Teresa Cherotic (9: 15.16 – 4th), Kate Kontin (9: 29.56 – 5th), Emma Torbert (9: 36.81 – 7) and Sioban Joyce (9: 39.23 – 393 – 39. 8). Sylvia Celagon is ranked on the fourth fastest female indoors 800 m when she runs 2: 06.19 to finish ninth in general. The last two achievements of the top 10 for women were from Abigail White and Mary Francis Isaman in the female mile with a white running 4: 48.36 (7th) and Isman Kloking 4: 52.81 (10th).

The men’s distance group publishes a trio of the top 10 brands in the male mile, led by Jaouad Khchina with the second fastest time in the history of the program after starting 3: 57.73. Joshua Kosige waited for the fourth fastest time of 3: 59.91, joining the club for a sub-4 minutes. The newcomer Noah Contreras was responsible for the 10th fastest mile indoors in the history of the program, managing the best time from 4: 11.85.

Meanwhile, in Virginia Beach, South Carolina claimed three victories on the last day of Invitational on the east coast. Anthony Greenhovi (21.10) closely defeated her teammate Yasauna Dennis (21.14) at 200 meters for the victory and a new record for a date. Jameesia Ford made its debut of the 200m season with a win and a record for a meeting, ranked 23.02 for the seventh fastest time in NCAA this season. The final victory in Virginia Beach came from Theo Mudzhegre in the triple jump of men with a distance of 14.57 m (47-9.5).

Dylan Targart, 2024, on an indoor bronze medalist at NCAA, threw his season best in the shot at 19.41m (63-8) to finish as a top colleague in the event. In addition, throwing it moved it to seventh in general in NCAA.

South Carolina will return for a final meeting of the regular indoor season before hosting his last meeting at the indoor home since 2025. Then Gamecocks will compete in the Tiger Paw invitation on Friday, February 14 and Saturday , February 15 in Clemson.
