Angie Mentink will be the first regular female color analyzer in Seattle Marinrs history – Sports Illustrated

The Seattle Marinrs broadcasting boot will look significantly different in 2025 than in recent seasons.

The long time of playing Dave Sims has left the organization to take the same role with New York Yankees and Mike Blowers will also not return for undisclosed reasons.

Aaron Goldsmith, who has been at the Seattle Air For more than a decade, will take over as a full -time game commentator. It will be joined by several new additions to the stand. According to an article written by Adam Jude by Seattle Times, many of these new commentators will include former franchise players.

The new team will also include Angie Menin, who will make the story as the first woman to be a regular color analyst in the franchise game.

Mentink is a graduate athlete who helped introduce the Softball team of the University of Washington in her opening season in 1993. One year later, she became the first player in the history of the program to win all conferences and all-American honors. She played a professional baseball for the Silver Bullets in Colorado in 1995 and refused an alternative place in the US Softball Olympic team to compete for the team.

Mentink has Root Sports and covered Mariners Games to some extent for the bigger part of 27 years (since 1998) and occasionally joined the broadcast cabin during television broadcasts. She became the first woman to be a colorful commentator during the TV broadcast of m in 2021.

Mentink will turn games with other new additions to the broadcast cab. It will also cover the shows before and after the game.

The new broadcast team is expected to be announced next week, according to Jude’s article.
