Heartbeat in South Carolina – Texas A&M Battalion

No. 4 Texas A&M Horseman Travels to Blythewood, South Carolina to face No. 8 South Carolina Gamecocks. Although South Carolina has only one transfer and maintains its list, A&M fell to a short 11-9, moving to 1-3 in a conference game.

The agias began strongly, winning the competition of the fence with a score of 3-2. The fifth year Devon Thomas and Senior Brooke Broombach provided points with a score of 85, and the sophomore Kate Egan scored a point with a score of 83. Despite the loss of a 0.5 table and Leong with 2.5.

Gamecocks bounced into the flat race, winning 3-2. Thomas and the graduate Maggie Nihan were able to provide points for the agias, with results of 83 and 88.5. But the freshman Amira Kattane provided the highest result for Gamecocks, ending with a score of 90 and winning a point. Senior Sophie Mitchell and Jr. Natalie Jane also secured points for Gamecocks, with scores of 85 and 89.5. This led the overall jumping seat to 5-5.

Inertia would be swinging in favor of South Carolina as they would win the race on horseback 3-2. The senior Hannah Olaussen, who scored 74.75, and the senior Eli Gersbrand, who scored 74.5, provided points for the agias, but was not enough for the agias to secure the victory. Junior Carly Jenkins, Sophomore Jordyn Humber and Junior Alyssa Jipping Stole Points for the Gamecocks to Close Out a Narrow Victory, with SCORES of 74.25, 75.25 and 75.7.7 to try to earn a point from Senior Millie Landon , junior Maagan Brown and junior Caitlin Bloom.

South Carolina managed to step away from A&M in the Reining race, despite the valiant A&M efforts. Sophomore Anna Harris and the senior Lauren Hanson managed to get points for the agias, scoring 72 and 70. But freshman Olivia Cardi, the fifth year Chloe Stevenson and Senior Hale Turner provided three points for Gamecocks, completing the competition with 72.75 and 73.5 scores. Three points over junior Grace Caseball, senior Matti Gustin and sophomore Isabel Gonzalez.

Gamecocks retired to the Western competition with a score of 6-4 in the event to finalize the win of the competition, 11-9.

A&M returns to college to compete against Georgia Bulldogs in Hildblood’s Horses Complex At 12 o’clock on Friday, February 14th.
