Glenda M. “GiGi” Garland Leeper – Jamestown Post Journal

Glenda M. “GiGi” Garland Leeper, 74, of 49 W. 10th Street, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at UPMC Hamot, Erie.

She was born October 29, 1949, in McKeesport, PA, the daughter of Grace Sayles Garland and the late Robert Lee Garland, Sr.

GiGi is a graduate of City Honors High School, Buffalo, and is pursuing certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Arriving in Jamestown in 1970, she worked as an LPN at Tanglewood Manor, WCA and Cummins Hospital.

She was a member of Blackwell Chapel AME Zion Church where she served as head usher and worked with the Baby Cafe ministry. GiGi was a very loving and caring person who had an effect on everyone she met.

Surviving are her mother of Buffalo; two sons, Saron (Natalie) Leeper and Quentin (Heather) Leeper, both of Jamestown; six grandchildren Quentasia Leeper, Saron Leeper Jr., Amare Leeper, Egypt Leeper, Simeon Leeper and Kaiden Cusimano; great-grandson Jakaii Leeper; a brother, Robert (Nicole) Garland Jr., two sisters, Zelda Garland and Lorna Garland (Sam) Feaster, both of Buffalo, and a longtime friend, Yvonne Wasson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Leeper in 2008, and two sisters, Sandra and Wendy Garland.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blackwell Chapel AME Zion Church. Friends will be received from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the church.
