Talahasi – Florida government. Ron Roanis Strengthens State’s efforts to help perform President Trump’s Immigration PolicyS

On Friday, he announced that the safety and motor vehicles on Florida highways will partner with US immigration and implementation of personalization (ICE) under Section 287 (G) of the Law on Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Liability.

The 287 (g) program allows ICE to work with state and local law enforcement authorities to arrest and remove “aliens who undermine the safety of our nation communities and the integrity of US Immigration Laws.”

This act authorizes ICE to give the Florida highway patrol the ability to exercise certain obligations to implement immigration, which they would not be authorized to perform before and apply the immigration law.

FHP’s new immigration body

According to the FHP Troopers partnership, they may question individuals about their immigration status during routine traffic stops, arrested or investigations. The troops will also be able to retain the suspects of the ice, in anticipation of a further investigation or action by the federal immigration authorities.

If it is found that the individual is in the country illegal, FHP may initiate procedures to deport or retain them from ice.

However, the partnership does not give FHP the power to arrest people for immigration violations as ice staff. Their role is more to identify and support the implementation of federal immigration laws, often by identifying persons who may be illegal in the country. The final decision to deport or hold is resting with ice.
