Free tax assistance offered during the upcoming event – WAFB

Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB) – There is a free event that will offer free resources to anyone who needs help to complete their taxes.

Capital Area United Way hosts its super tax day in 2025 at the East Baton Rouge’s main library at Goodwood. The event will be held on Saturday, February 15th, between 8:00 and 3:00 pm

During the event, IRS -certified volunteers will offer free seminars, presentations, financial education resources and tax care as a whole.

In order to receive tax assistance from the volunteers, residents will have to bring the following documents with them:

• Photo ID (for you and your spouse if you submit jointly)
• Social Security Card or ITN for any member of your household family
• W-2 forms for all jobs, all 1099 or 1098 forms and information on other income received
• Name of Child Provider, Address and Tax ID
• Verification and Number of Savings Accounts
• Last year’s tax return
• 1095-Acts on the Health Insurance Market (if applicable)
• Payments to Stimulate: IRS letter 1444-C or bank check of the amount received (if applicable)
• Improved Tax Credit for Children: IRS Letter 6419 (if applicable)
• Another appropriate information on revenue and expenditure
